The ‘Aurora’ Cowl is the coziest way to say hello to Autumn
It's officially the end of summer and autumn's chill has made it's sudden appearance. Somehow it catches me by surprise every year, and I'm never quite ready for the return to shorter days and frosty mornings. While it isn't quite cold enough to pull out the heavy...

I am so super excited about this new pattern I am sharing with you today!!! This has been over a year in the making, when I made my first pair of slipper socks, then had several people ask for a pair when they saw them. I wanted a unique funky slipper pattern that I...
2019 Year in Review –Makers Markets– What I learned
This year was the first year I ventured into selling my items as a vendor in craft shows/maker markets. I carefully read all the blogs, Facebook posts, seasoned market seller info, and everyone had great insight on how to succeed during market season. I saw a lot...

No needles? No problem! Knit with your favourite crochet hook!!
Are you a crocheter that has always loved the look of all those fabulous knits, but like me can't quite get those needles to behave themselves long enough to make anything? Do you have a million knit projects planned out (or in your Ravelry queue) waiting for the day...
about me

My name is Mellissa and I am the artisan behind Gingerbeez Creations. I chose to name my business after the most important thing in my life–my family. We have three boys (our busy bees!) and we all have red hair! As a lover of all things arts and crafts, I enjoy painting, drawing, knitting, weaving, sewing, spinning –and of course what I’m best known for– crocheting!
Everything is handmade by me in my home studio just off of Georgian Bay. My work in any medium is bright and colourful; I love trying new colour combinations and mixing textures and techniques in new and interesting ways. I enjoy making fun and unique accessories and rarely make the exact same thing twice, which means my makes are truly one-of-a-kind and something you won’t find anywhere else!
Over the years I have shared my love of the fibre arts with family and friends, teaching crochet both in person and online. Crochet is so versatile and there is always something new to learn; I am always looking for new stitches, patterns, and yarn to try. One of my favourite things to do is find interesting “souvenir yarns” made by local artisans in the cute little yarn shops I find when I travel!
My patterns can be found on both Ravelry and Etsy. Follow me on IG and FB for updates on shop updates and to see my latest handmade creations!
